We stayed at Hotel Splendid Palace for three nights. The hotel has an excellent location, however, the room facilities are simple and outdated. No tea or coffee making facilities, and two rigid single beds pushed together as opposed to a double. We were allocated a room on level 2, the sea views were lovely except for the green faux-grass (it was the roof of the lower level) directly outside our balcony. At night a massive spotlight (shining down from the top floor) would reflect on the green, interrupting the water views which we paid top dollar for. It also provided a perfect haven for moths and bugs, rendering our balcony unpleasant and useless at night.
The single elevator which serviced 4 floors was inconvenient as the hotel is quite busy, we just used the stairs. There are several hotel room pictures on the internet that were false advertising. Does not deserve 4 stars.
On a positive note, the breakfast is very generous and abundant.
